Ordinary women discovering extraordinary lives in Jesus

Welcome to Women Seeking Christ, a community of ordinary women discovering extraordinary lives in Jesus.

About Us

Women Seeking Christ is a place to grow in your faith through studies, devotions, and sharing of our lives. Inspired by the women of the Bible who, despite being considered chattel in a patriarchal society, didn’t let life role them over.

Biblical women struggled with infertility, parenting issues, caretaking worries, and health concerns. Some had troubled marriages and others labored to make ends meet. Like us, they were tempted and had character flaws: jealousy, fear, greed, anger, lack of confidence, and selfishness to name just a few.

Women Seeking Christ is a place where we tackle all these subjects and more. Join in, ask questions, express doubts, share concerns, and celebrate victories.

We’re glad you found us. Please visit often as we gather together and develop Christ loving relationships. Participate in conversations on our blog posts, subscribe for email notifications, and follow us on social media for more interaction.

“I marvel at the intrinsic power given to women by our Creator. Considered chattel in Biblical times, these women did not stand idly by while life rolled them over. Women have the ability to impact the world in a profound way. Even me. Even YOU. Even NOW.” Patrice Van Dyke

BLESS ME TOO GOD!

“Don’t call me Naomi,” she responded. “Instead, call me Mara, for the Almighty has made life very bitter for me. I went away full, but the LORD has brought me home empty. Why call me Naomi when the LORD has caused me to suffer and the Almighty has sent such tragedy upon me” (Ruth 1: 20-21 NLT)?

Do you ever have an attitude like Naomi? Do you feel like God answers other prayers, but not yours? That God blesses other people more than you?

Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Lives

Do you think an ordinary woman can change the world for future generations?

I am writing a study about women in the Bible and upon researching these remarkable ladies I can unequivocally answer yes to this question.

These women were considered chattel and had few rights. Despite their second-class status, many of them showed strength of character, courage, and conviction. They took control of their lives, attained success, and were used by God to accomplish His will.

To name a few:

Ready, Set, Go

Don’t you love the “fresh start” feeling of a new year? Beginnings prompt us to reflect and wonder about making the most of this opportunity to start over, i.e., New Year’s Resolutions!

Many Christians believe that it is wrong to make resolutions for the New Year. I get it. It almost seems like we are buying into a “works” mentality. Some people don’t like to set goals. They believe they are stifling the direction and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Of course, there is no commandment that says: Thou shall or shall not make resolutions, but as always God’s word never fails or returns void. Let’s look at some biblical characters and verses to help us with our resolution confusion.
