Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Lives

Do you think an ordinary woman can change the world for future generations?

I am writing a study about women in the Bible and upon researching these remarkable ladies I can unequivocally answer yes to this question.

These women were considered chattel and had few rights. Despite their second-class status, many of them showed strength of character, courage, and conviction. They took control of their lives, attained success, and were used by God to accomplish His will.

To name a few:

Ready, Set, Go

Don’t you love the “fresh start” feeling of a new year? Beginnings prompt us to reflect and wonder about making the most of this opportunity to start over, i.e., New Year’s Resolutions!

Many Christians believe that it is wrong to make resolutions for the New Year. I get it. It almost seems like we are buying into a “works” mentality. Some people don’t like to set goals. They believe they are stifling the direction and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Of course, there is no commandment that says: Thou shall or shall not make resolutions, but as always God’s word never fails or returns void. Let’s look at some biblical characters and verses to help us with our resolution confusion.

CAROL YOUR WAY THROUGH CHRISTMAS

This week we are looking at the Christmas story through carols. Hopefully, this unique way of looking at Jesus’s birth will give you a new perspective. If did for me! Happy Caroling!

The Christmas Ornament Surprise

My mom passed away in 2016. She loved Christmas and made it a lot of fun for our family. Still, she never forgot we were celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. So December of 2016 was a sad month for me, but my loving God had a special surprise as I reluctantly trudged through what I thought was a burden. This week’s blog is an article I wrote last year. Here it is:

Happily Ever After

In a quandary about what to post, I sat down in front of the TV and turned on the Hallmark Channel. The movies are similar with only slight variations. But one part that never varies is the ending. Of course, the “happily ever after” ending never happens in real life, but it’s Hallmark’s story and they are sticking to it.
